Amazing Race Recap: Who doesn't like mango meat ice cream?

It's as sweet and tangy and meaty as a couple of angry lesbians! (By the way, does referring to them as "lesbians" all the time start to sound uncomfortable and homophobic? It's basically just a shorthand, but I'm starting to reevaluate. However, the only other term I can think of is "snooty bastards," and I'm not sure that's better.) Anyway, recap is up!

I was running into the same problem with regards to the "lesbians". I found that simply calling them the girlfriends was a little easier to swallow. And how bad is it that my 6 year old turned to me during the show and commented that "those girls aren't being very nice". The models may have been stupid to eliminate the girlfriends (as opposed to bigger threats like the cops or cowboys), but the girlfriends inability to be anything (oblivious, insincere, fake) other than rude to the models led to their downfall.

I think calling them the "girlfriends" is probably a wise move - I also feel like the racers calling them "the lesbians" starts to sound pejorative.
I loved that the brothers got it together enough to do the fast forward - because I had visions of whats her name and the waterslide from last season in my head....

I don't have a problem calling them the lesbians, but I definitely think it depends on your tone. For instance, when Caite says it, I have the same reaction one of the brothers did...I feel like she doesn't like them in large part because they're lesbians.
