Where the hell am I going?

As I've alluded to on EW.com, I'm leaving the magazine next week for another job; I'll be the new editor of Vulture.com, which is the entertainment blog for New York Magazine's website. It's a really smart, funny blog about all things pop culture, and I hope you'll check it out. It breaks my heart to abandon The Amazing Race after this Sunday's episode; I've spent the last nine seasons mocking people who can't finish a challenge, and now just look at me. What next, will I start calling myself "Babe"?

I'll elaborate on my feelings leaving the wonderful place that has employed me for 12 years DEAR GOD 12 YEARS, WHERE IS MY YOUTH? a little later, but for now I wanted to answer the question, "Where the hell did Josh go?"

Don't give up on me...

I know this blog has been inactive since Election Day, and I am ashamed. Here's the short equation for No Time to Blog: stomach flu + hard times at work (still employed, though) X (moving on Monday + teething, unsleeping child). I am so frantic and wild-eyed at this point that I don't even have time for a half-assed attempt at a post. No "maybe this will tide you over" because I can't see through my mess of unfilled boxes enough to think of anything. This is probably the giveaway sign of a bad blogger: a TRUE blogger would be able to spin a stream-of-consciousness riff on the economy and boxes and what it all means, but that same blogger wouldn't be leaving enough time to panic and sweat about how it can't possibly all get done no no no no way, and I really need to make room for that in my schedule. Apologies.

More than just a one-reality-show blowhard

Sure, I can bloviate on and on about The Amazing Race, but I'm much much more worldy and well-rounded than that. I can also ramble on and on about Survivor. This season, I'll be co-hosting a weekly wrap-up show with Dalton Ross (in which we interview the castoffs) on EW.com that will go up every Monday. Here's this week's installment, where we get to hobnob and nobhob with the season's inaugural loser, Johnny Fairplay. (Jealous?) They'll go up every Monday, and every week you'll be able to revel in the sight of me not knowing quite what to do with my arms.
